Fit note for German Shepherds

GSDs have a sloped back — coats designed for flat-backed dogs will gap at the rear. Look for adjustable rear straps or wrap-around recovery suits. Never put a non-breathable layer on a GSD with an intact double coat except in very cold weather — they overheat. Size up from your tape measurement on long-coat GSDs to account for coat bulk.
